I finally got around to cleaning the stain. It sits in the playroom upstairs, so I've tried to ignore it. Yesterday I took up my carpet cleaner and sprayed away. And guess what, the black stain turned purple. And it spread. The more I scrubbed, the bigger it got.
I got so frustrated, I walked away and went downstairs. I ran my fingers through the bag of chocolate chips to calm myself down. I went back to ignoring the stain. Later that night, I heard Todd gasp upstairs when he saw it. He then got mad at the kids for ruining the carpet and wanted to know who was at fault. They all told him that mom did it. He was doubtful and I remained silent.
Today I realized that sometimes my life is just like this stain. What starts innocently enough on a small, manageable scale, seems to bleed into something larger that I didn't plan on tackling. Cleaning up one problem leads to a bigger problem. A task that I thought would take minutes, now will take untold amount of time.
Maybe if I find a way to clean up my carpet, I'll also find a way to balance my life. That stain is soaked in deep. But so is my constant way of managing too much at once. Strange how we do that sometimes, isn't it?
For now, I'm going to keep ignoring my problem area. When I get around to it, I think I'll ask Todd for advice. He has a way with color dye.

Did you try Oxy-Clean spray or Incredible? There's not much those two can't get out.

No, they told me you did it and to ask you about it. They looked at me and says SHE KNOWS. That implies you put the black dot there to begin with. Nope, they did. I am good with dyes and love the new color of my pants. Maybe there will be another picture coming soon :-)
Try rubbing alcohol. Ben wrote with pen all over our couch (lovely) and rubbing alcohol took ALL of it off. Good luck!!
I see alcohol has already been suggested; however, the alcohol I would try out on it is of a different variety...Vodka. Seriously. First time I ever bought some, it completely removed red nail polish out of carpet (Derek was to blame at the age of 18 months). My cleaner cabinet hasn't been w/out Vodka since. I SWEAR I only use it for cleaning. :) Seriously, if it will take paint (and hopefully pen!?) out of carpet, what would it do to one's insides? I won't be finding out. Let me know if you want to borrow my bottle--you can only get it at liquor stores in these parts, and I know you don't frequent those.

I think the color of Todd's pants will match the carpet quite nicely-but liquor is always a nice option too!!
I am a friend a friend shamefully blog hopping but we had a nail polish incident at our house last week and this is so weird but shaving cream took it all out. You can't even tell. Try it. Not sure if if will work for ink but cant make it any worse.
